Nothing beats the smoky, savory taste of barbecue ribs—but you don’t need a grill to enjoy them. This Oven Barbecue Ribs Recipe delivers tender, fall-off-the-bone meat with a rich, sticky barbecue glaze, all from the comfort of your kitchen. Perfect for weeknight dinners, weekend feasts, or special occasions.
Ingredients
1 kg pork ribs
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra flavor)
1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar (optional, for extra glaze)
Instructions
Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 160°C (320°F). Line a baking tray with foil for easy cleanup.
Prepare the ribs:
Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for a more tender result. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Wrap and bake:
Place the ribs on the foil and cover them tightly. Bake in the oven for 2–2.5 hours. This slow cooking ensures the ribs become tender and juicy.
Add the barbecue glaze:
Remove the ribs from the oven, carefully unwrap, and brush generously with barbecue sauce. If desired, drizzle with honey or sprinkle with brown sugar for a sticky, caramelized finish.
Finish under the broiler:
Set the oven to broil (or 220°C/425°F) and place the ribs back in for 5–10 minutes. Watch carefully—they should be caramelized and slightly charred without burning.
Serve and enjoy:
