Gradually pour the hot milk into the egg-sugar-cornstarch mixture, stirring constantly.
Return everything to the saucepan and thicken over medium heat, stirring continuously, until creamy.
To prepare the flan:

Preheat the oven to 180°C (Gas Mark 6).
Pour the mixture over the dough in the tin.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until golden brown.
Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before removing from the tin and enjoying.
