OREO cupcakes – always worth a sin!

These cupcakes were part of the massive cupcake buffet I served for my colleagues at the end of my apprenticeship. It was originally an American recipe. However, since we Germans don’t like sweet foods as much, the amount of sugar in the recipe was drastically reduced. If the cupcakes are still too sweet for you, you can always tweak the ingredients yourself. But for now, have fun baking them! I highly recommend this recipe!

Ingredients

Dough

12 OREOs

140 g flour

100 g sugar

1/2 tsp baking powder

120 ml milk

4 tbsp room temperature butter

2 egg whites (yolk is not needed)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1-2 pinches of salt

Frosting

150 g refrigerator-cold cream cheese

4 tbsp room temperature butter

2 EL Stage

120 g powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

decoration

12 mini OREOs or six halved OREOs
